Intensive Outpatient Program

The Intensive Outpatient Program at the Complete Mind Care Outpatient Clinic is a treatment program designed for adults with mood disorders such as depression and/or anxiety. The program offers group and individual psychotherapy, medication management, and occupational therapy in an environment with multiple treatment providers that work as a team to best meet your needs. We utilize evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  

What should you expect from IOP?

IOPs are referred to as “intensive” because they have the intensity to provide the change through therapies. Unlike an inpatient program, an IOP offers patients the ability to receive treatment while still living at home and engaging in their personal lives, allowing individuals to attend IOP without disrupting their work, routine, or relationships. 

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is an 8-week program, targeting coping, insight and mindfulness into symptoms and triggers, emotion identification/tolerance, and values identification. Patients will receive IOP treatment three times per week, scheduled in three-hour blocks per day, consisting of group therapy 3-times per week, as well as individual psychotherapy for 1-hour weekly. Medication management appointments will occur as needed.   

What does group therapy look like?

A cornerstone of IOP is the group therapy sessions. These therapist-guided sessions can be much more helpful for recovery, than individual sessions alone. Groups can act as a support network and a sounding board. Regularly talking and listening to others helps patients put their own problems in perspective, and give a sense of relief, knowing you’re not alone. Furthermore, our therapists have specialized training, teaching group members proven strategies for managing specific problems.
